Although summer is my all time favorite season, there is something comforting about the cold, especially on lazy sundays. Coffee tastes better, the walks enjoyable and time just passing by langurously. Finally, it was cold enough to wear some tights and brought out this poufy ballerina skirt in an attempt to look youthful lol. Worn with bench bamboo silk t-shirt (the silkiest shirt there ever!) and a peacoat. Thank you sweetie for taking my pics :) and a big thank you to all who commented on my last post.

Have a nice week ahead of you!

So this is part trois of the Luna adventure. I tried using picnik on the first three pictures and I love how easy it is to use. It definitely changes the mood of the picture, doesn't it ? On another note, it's been raining on and off since Monday, a very different weather from last Sunday when we hit the beaches. Very unpredictable weather. There's just something so sad about rain, I wish every hour that God will bring back the summer weather. Even if it means battling the sweltering heat once again.

p.s thank you for the words of encouragement. though blogging is not easy to maintain with all the networking we do, your comments brighten up my day!

Thanks for reading lovelies.

" Tropical the island breeze
All the nature wild and free,
this is where I want to be,
La Isla Bonita"

- "La Isla Bonita", Madonna

Well, technically, Luna isn't an island but the song above perfectly describes my frame of mind right now. I woke up late and is lazy, lazy, lazy, dreaming of blue skies, emerald sparkling waters and white sand. I wish I was on vacation forever. I'm definitely coming back with my dearest friends and have fun, fun, fun.

Please don't mind the last photo :D it is a poor attempt at jumping! The summer dress I wore on the photos is thrifted and I definitely love the fact that I got this for a very low price. Worn with my wooden earrings and bangles plus my havaianas which seem to last forever *wink*.

P.s. I'd like to thank everyone for your nice comments on my last post. Is it obvious that I have too much time on my hands? :D

(Ruins of a lighthouse dating back from the Spanish times)

I've noticed that most bloggers, including myself, enlist the help of our special someone in taking pics for our blog. Mine grew exasperated after seeing me run to pose to beat the 10 second timer of my camera. Up till last week, the bf has not seen my blog, only glimpses.Yesterday, he took me to a deserted part of the beach to take photos, saying "to put in your blog". I'm happy that he understands that my blogging is an important part to me.

The photos above are taken from Luna beach. There are many rocks and seaweed to be found here and is not conducive for swimming, hence, it is deserted except for a few fishermen and their boats. I hope that someday, this place will retain its natural beauty and will be enjoyed by many in the years to come.

p.s We took so many photos this is only part une :D

White is not a color

Apr 18, 2009

With the sweltering heat, I find it hard to wear other colors especially my favorite black. I seem to be always gravitating to white clothes this week and luckily, half of my clothes are in that color. The only problem with having so much clothes in white is when I am attending a wedding. Bah, that only happens once in a while :D. So here are my bright whites that I wore this week:

Tuesday:

(Thrifted dress, Vintage Oscar dela Renta cardigan, anica shoes)

Thursday:

(Handmade skirt that I had "bubbled" only at the front, Plains and Prints blouse, folded and hung belt, SM dept store shoes)

Saturday:

(Vintage lace dress, SM dept store sandals)

This is what I wore to work this Saturday. I couldn't resist a small photoshoot before going to my office. Work you might say? This is usually the plight of a business owner. You have to be on call 24/7 and holidays are usually non existent. But I am grateful for my work because it gives me challenges to work on everyday and it is so rewarding when everything goes smoothly after a hectic day. Well, enough ranting as tomorrow is rest day for a company beach outing.

P.s. Sorry for the boring outfit post. Beach pictures to be posted soon :D

Thanks for reading, have a lovely weekend everyone.

I'd like to say a very BIG thank you to my dad and my mom plus my sisters for sending me a care package this Easter. To my Mom, thank you for the perfumes while to my Dad, I love the gadgets you have sent my way. To my sisters who gave me tons of makeup plus some kick ass heels, salamat ng madami! Betha, I super super love the Thakoon for Target dress :D Opening the package made me feel so blessed and the items inside made me think that they have really picked it out for me. I don't need to go shopping for a few months and this just might be the answer to my self imposed shopping ban.

Therapy

Blouse: Landmark department store; Shorts: For Me; Accesories: Local artisans;

In our family, Saturday is "Therapy" day. My mother coined this term after waking up every saturday to look for some garage sales and score amazing deals. There is really something therapeutic in acquiring things but in moderation of course. My therapy is getting out of hand as I have paper bags yet to unpack. I recently bought a lot of basic things like polo t-shirts and shorts as the hot and humid weather dictates us to wear this everyday. If you have been in Manila, you would know how sticky summer can be.

So I will be imposing on myself a shopping ban of clothes for two weeks then let's see. I was able to go shoe-shopping free for two months so why not for clothes? But I've always been a clothes hag and this might be more daunting.

My blouse in the photos was something I picked from a department store. It was meant to be a bikini cover-up but I ended up wearing it with shorts to give it more mileage. The pattern reminded me of Missoni knits, which along with Pucci, seems to be the perfect clothes for summer. Once in Adora, my friend and I ran our hands along a Missoni dress but nearly fainted with the price. This is what I wore this morning to go to "Therapy". I went thrift shopping for summer clothes and it was an enjoyable experience. The only bad thing about the trip is when I touched another woman's choice of dress which I did accidentally. Then she made a deregatory remark about my figure not being able to "beautify" the dress. *Sigh*

My cheap thrill of the day: sparkly bracelets for my mom and my sisters at only 400 php/8$ a pop :D

Internalize

Apr 10, 2009

Today is Good Friday, a time for reflections of the year past. My mom has always said that we must attend church and be still that day to respect the solemnity of the occasion. Yesterday was the start of the long weekend and I traveled to be with my Grandma. It's always nice to be with your family, knowing that whatever you do, you can always go home to them and be loved. So my resolutions for this year would be:

1. Be kind always. Because every one of us needs a dose of kindness from time to time.
2. Be less angry. It is not productive.
3. Always say thank you for every little blessing that comes.
4. Say I love you to our loved ones. Sometimes, actions are never enough.

Whew, it honestly took a lot to type and internalize these things but thinking about them made me feel so much better. :D

On another note, I confess that i have done something very enjoyable today (Mom if you're reading this, you know how much I love beaches, we enjoyed the day serenely :). My cousin tagged along with me to a beach just 15 minutes from my Grandma's house. It is a beautiful beach, largely unspoiled by commercialism and the population.

(click on the pics for a larger view)

The good: gorgeous weather, cool and clear waters, an unhurried time of a holiday.
The bad: i didn't bring any of my swimsuits as I've planned to only stay for a few hours. So no outfit post for now :D But I will sure go back and wear my missoni inspired outfit that I have been saving for such a perfect beach.
