The upside of having no internet connection is that you can go out and truly enjoy nature instead of being stuck in your room all day. I'm guilty of that so this past Sunday, we took a road trip to a beach two hours from where I live. Roadtrips are fun, it leaves you time to bond with your companion on the drive plus the shared experience is just refreshing. As you can see, the beach is not so populated and is very picturesque. The only sad thing is one part of the beach is littered with trash. I hope they take heart to the saying:

"Take nothing but pictures
Leave nothing but foot prints
Kill nothing but Time"

Wishing all of you a great week! It's the last days of summer (for us here) , last chance to catch those rays and beach fun!

When all things fail, I wear black. Lots of people don't understand this as I end up being asked at whose funeral to go to. Black is very easy to wear plus anything can do with accesories and shoes.

wearing a:
blouse: Hussein Chalayan
jeans: Cheap Monday
Shoes: from Divisoria, the most enjoyable shopping. bang for your buck haha

This is a headpiece I'm working on. Hopefully, it will turn out good. Tomorrow is the start of my graduation ceremonies so I'm chilling out with a glass of wine and some delicious pizza by an authentic italian chef. Ciao!

Oh, wait! I'm watching The Hills (MTV). I think it's really kind of entertaning but kind of shallow. Does anyone have an opinion on the show?

Loula's Summer

( Emilio Pucci dress, Hermes Loula's Summer Scarf)

These two items in my closet are the dearest items in my closet. It was love at first sight for the Pucci and this dress never fails to amaze me with its myriad of colors and shapes. The silk scarf from Hermes is a part of a series of short stories by Esther Henwood printed on silk. Mine is entitled Loula's Summer and has a delightful story about a girl who loved summer so much she wanted to become the season. Come to think of it, I am that girl too! This was bought by the dear BF and It just dawned on me how thoughtful the gift was. These two items will never go to Ebay, ever. LOL.

This scarve is also part of the series depicting "Clovis the Crocodile".

Come May 23, I'll be having my second degree in college. It seems like time just flew by *sigh*. FYI, I am a nutrionist-dietitian by profession and have a ND attached to my name haha. I almost never use it but my upcoming graduation made me reminisce some memories. By the way, I only go to school on the weekends so I had time to manage my business.

Today, I went back to school and had my graduation picture taken. I did my own makeup because I loathed having my makeup done by the resident makeup artist. Plus they have hygiene issues like sharing of brushes. So this is me after the shoot, wearing a silk skirt that i had thrifted. I toned down the flirtiness of the skirt by pairing it with a white button shirt and my favorite gold ballet flats. I wish the BF took a picture of me lugging my makeup kit haha. I was the only girl who had one. My sad moment of the week came when my cellphone was stolen yesterday. Sniff Sniff. It was pretty expensivo and I really felt bad that I didn't take care of it. Plus all of my contacts were gone.

Tomorrow is Mother's day, have you bought gifts for yours? I wish my mom is with me right now, she shares my love for fashion, jewelry and shopping (aren't all moms like that?). I'd like to share her SMS message when they were walking around Beverly Hills "Hi! I saw your best friends here all lined up like Gucci, Prada and the rest of the gang". Mom really knows best, I guess :D Happy Mother's Day to all moms!

Who wears pastel trench coats?

May 7, 2009

I'm tired of complaining about the weather. I thought it couldn't get any worse but there's a storm raging outside. I'm surfing the internet right now because the power might go off soon because the storm is going to land here in our province. Possibly, this is my last post for the week if the rains do not cease.

This morning, the bf and I went to the mall to buy some candles, flashlight and other supplies needed when a storm strikes. We managed to have some photos taken before going home hahaha. This pastel trench coat is my sister's but she left it when she went to the states. It was the perfect coat for the chilly weather and looked cute with its peachy pink color. A lot of people at the mall were giving me weird stares but I just thought "to each his own". I am comfortable in what I'm wearing so I don't really give anything.

It's friday tomorrow so to all who are having gorgeous weather, have a great weekend! I leave you with pictures of beaches I might be visiting next week and the best part of all, it's all located in my own province. Let's hope the sun shines next week!

plus what i wore today at work and playing with my laptop webcam during a lull in my office.

Yesterday was my best thrifting day ever! I went to some shops that I rarely frequent and I got so many amazing pieces that fit me so well. Also, I bought Nina Garcia's book "The Little Black book of Style". There's nothing new that the book will teach you but it is very handy and all the good advice is compressed into one little book. She also gives advice on what wo wear at different occasions and give examples of movies that we might draw inspiration from. If those don't get you, the wonderful illustrations of Ruben Toledo will.

Of tags and Thakoon for Target

I finally got to wear my Thakoon for Target Shibori print dress today. I have begged my younger sister to buy it for me in the States and what do you know? It was on sale! It was a large size but better big than small don't you think? Thank god for tailors. The original plan was to go to the park but as it is the Manny Pacquiao fight today, the bf and I had to hurry and buy some food while we sit brain dead infront of the tv during the match (which lasted only two rounds or simply put, 6 minutes!).
So how was your weekend? It was pistay dayat (Festival of the Sea) this May in my province so we got to attend a concert by the sea and watched a bikini open. Plus, bodyboarding during the day, it's me and the bf's new hobby. The bigger waves the better.

I have been tagged by the gorgeous Eden of Chic in the Tropics and I'd like to thank her for being so supportive of Filipina bloggers. So here are my answers!

[1] What are your current obsessions?

beautiful beaches, relaxing spas, ysl tribute heels, the hermes smart car, hermes twillies, Emilio Pucci dresses!

Grilled chicken and some stewed vegetables. Plus mangoes for dessert!

[5] Why is today special?

Because today, I first wore boyfriend jeans and loved it. AND Pacquiao won at 2nd round. Amazing!!

[6] What would you like to learn to do?

How to craft precious jewelry and manage time. I don't seem to have enough of it!

Hand sanitizer and silicon bra (information overload!!). The sanitizer is for the prevention of germs. The silicon bra for invisible bra lines when dresses are strapless or spaghetti strapped.

[8] What are you listening to right now?

Hot and Cold by Katy Perry. Am like that sometimes.

[10] What is your most challenging goal right now?

Keep my business running smoothly. Everyday presents new challenges grrr... I never run out of it. AND edit out my closet. It's hard to dress up in the morning when you have a million choices staring out at you and think "there's nothing I could wear!" *wail*

[11] What do you think about the person who tagged you?

I admire Eden because she is supportive of Filipina bloggers. I envy the parties she attends and love her cool style!

Someone you can turn to when all things are looking bleak. Sounds cliche but true! My friends have been there through my ups and downs

[18] Who do you want to meet in person?

Sofia Coppola

[20] What’s the favorite piece of clothing in your own closet?

My Marc Jacobs blue dots dress. It fits me like a glove and a thrift find!

Yes! They are too many to mention I wish I could remember them all. Aranell from chictopia stands out for me right now because of her romantic, girly style.

[27] Describe your personal style.

I like dresses because you can be dressed in a jiffy. Plus the whole dress can make a statement. I like both ballet flats and heels because they present a different side of you when paired with a dress. My wardrobe is extremes, you can find designer labels along with thrifted pieces. Shorts also form a vital part of my wardrobe plus beachwear because I can run to the beach in a heartbeat :D
So I guess that's it. Whew. It's my first time to answer a tag and it really got me thinking. To spread the cheers, I'm tagging:

Can't wait to see your answers! Have a lovely weekend lovelies!

Me loves this!

May 1, 2009

I'm obsessed with this Miss Dior Cherie ad. I kinda want my life to be like this (hey, it's free to dream. Everything in this ad is perfect! Dior dresses, pastries, baloons, the perfume, her room, French Vogue, Paris! Someday, I'll have a picture of myself in a pink dress with a bunchful of pastel balloons.

On another note, I'd like to ask dear lovelies, on something I'm very curious about. How do I give blog awards? Is there some site to go or points to earn?

It's also great to be back on cyberspace. My internet conked out for three days aaggghhh, it was like being missing, my chanel dress ripped at the side and the side mirror of my car was scratched by a motorcycle! Is there a mercury retrogade I don't know about? It's weekend again and I've never been happier to see it arrive.
